    Blastball!

Grant LOVED his first season of baseball. A lot of his games were rained out so we did not get many good pictures but here are a few of his last game. His two best friends are on his team and that made it even more fun for him! Our good friend and neighbor was his coach. Grant loves Coach Peter and he had a very successful season! He is still switch hitting but is hitting better left. He loves to pitch and really goes after the ball. I can see lots of baseball games in our future.

Last pics of Pros and Cons Filming

Here are a few shots from Greyson's last day of shooting. I have  to admit that we were both really sad that it is all coming to an end. It has just been such a unique and educational experience. We are so thankful to have been a part of this wonderful cast. I will keep the blog updated as we find out details of the release date, etc.

    Halloween 2009

Halloween 2009 was a total blast! We had our usual neighborhood party in the cul de sac and had a great turnout! The boys went trick or treating for awhile and came home with lots of candy. They spent the rest of the night jumping, sliding and making s'mores. Our little pirate and our brave soldier were adorable!

    Grant's Mini- Dribblers

Grant loved his basketball class this fall. We have a wonderful parks and rec department here in Southlake. We have really been taking advantage of their little sport classes. Grant did really well and learned a lot! It was really fun to watch him play and he also made some new little friends! He was so excited to earn a trophy and certificate too!

More Pictures from the filming of Pros and Cons

"Pros and Cons" has been a total blast! These pictures of a scene that was shot at an outdoor mall in Allen. We got to bring along our friends the Beekmans to be extras. Neil, Grant and I were also extras. It was a lot of fun. I was really impressed with how well Grant did. He actually has the concept of acting down and it is so funny. He was also so proud of Greyson. He would just light up when Grey would be around. It was neat. We all shot for several hours but it was fun! Greyson did wonderfully and made us proud.

    Pros and Cons Pictures

Here are some pictures of the filming of Pros and Cons. It is Greyson's first movie and he is loving it! He is so blessed to be surrounded by amazing actors and actresses. We have also loved all the crew! The director, assistant directors and producers have been fabulous! Greyson and I have both loved every minute of the experience. Greyson has done such a  good job and is learning so much. As a mom, it is very cool to see him in his element. I am so proud of how hard he has worked and how well he has behaved on set. He has several 10 hour shoots and that is tough for anyone. BUT really hard for an 8 year old boy. We hope that he will have more opportunities like this in the future because it has just been awesome! Here are some photos from his first few days of shooting. More to come.....

The first group of photos is from scenes filmed in the home of the "Snow" family. Greyson plays Johnny Snow. He is the son of the main character who is a man obsessed with fantasy football. The movie is about the fallout on his family and life when his obsession takes over.

     Disney....

A Magical Reunion with Very Special Friends

We originally planned our trip with two other families. We all planned to meet and spend several days together. I made a lot of the reservations and plans and we were all set. But the best made plans....

Grey ended up filming on our last weekend so we needed to head home several days early. Althought we were disapoointed to leave early, we were excited for him to get to film. We did get to spend a little time with our friends though and we made the most of it!

We were so excited to see the Bakers and the Mundorffs. We miss them so much now that we are all spread out over Texas. The Mundorffs are still in Frisco and the Bakers are in Dripping Springs. So it took a trip to see Mickey to get us all back together. Open-mouthed

We all met at Hollywood Studios for some fun! Greyson, Kaitlyn and their dads all went straight to Rock and Roll Rollercoaster. Neil said it was so precious because Grey and Kaitlyn did not strop talking to each other the whole time in line. He said it was like they just had so much to tell each other. These two have know each other since they were not even one year old so they have a lot of great history. They have a very sweet friendship. Grant and I met everyone else at the Block Party for round two. Grant was so happy to see Beckett. The Mundorffs lived behind us for 3 years and our kids hit it off. They too had a lot to catch up on and did they ever! They were attached at the hip the whole day. After the block party we all enjoyed some rides and a very BIG Italian meal at Mama Melrose's Restaurant. It was so fun to have all 7 kids back together. Grey, Merritt, Kaitlyn, Kylie, Holland, Beckett and Grant all had a blast together while their parents ate an enoromous amount of food and had lots of laughs! It was really fun! After dinner, we saw some shows and rode some more rides together. It was a great day. At the end of the night, there were a few tears and lots of hugs. We loved spending this special time with very missed friends.

    Breakfast at O'hana

YUM!! We were so lucky to have reservations for breakfast at our hotel's famous restaurant called O'hana.  We had never been there before but always heard great things about it. We were not disappointed. It was so YUMMY! We loved it and we got to meet Lilo and Stitch too. We all ate way too much but it was a great morning!

    Grant Becomes a Jedi

There is a new attraction at Disney that is really neat but needs some tweaking... Hundreds of little kids line up an hour early in hopes of being picked to do Jedi Training. (Then some parents walk up 2 minutes before it starts and shove their kids up to the front of the crows) But anyway, they pick 10 kids to participate and the other 90 cry and their parents get frustrated and leave. All that being said, my boys really wanted to be picked to Jedi train. We made three attempts that resulted in nothing. On our fourth attempt Grant was selected and was SO excited. Greyson was devastated. He eventually came around and cheered for Grant. I did feel really bad for him. Grant had so much fun though and was so happy that Grey actually told him that he was glad they picked Grant. He said, " I am already a Jedi so it is good that Grant is too now. " Love it. Grant got to light saber fight with Darth Vader and that was really awesome. MGM needed to add some Star Wars stuff to the park but they need to make something change to allow more kids to participate. So Disney execs, if you are reading :) , love the idea now make it work! Here are some shots of Grant's Jedi Training.

    More fun at MGM

We went back to MGM a couple more times before the trip ended. We wanted to have lunch with the playhouse Disney characters, see some more characters, and try FOR THE FOURTH TIME to get picked for Jedi Training. More on that later.... Here are some pictures of our boys with some of MGM's crazy characters.

    EPCOT

EPCOT is such a different park than the others. It is very cool though and a nice change of pace. Some of our favorite Disney rides are at EPCOT. Grant was super happy that he was tall enough to ride the test track this year! It was great and he loved it. My mom and I loved the Soarin' ride. It is really neat. Neil and Greyson rode and loved Mission Space while mom and I played with Grant. We all love  the aquarium and Nemo ride too. Mom, Grant and I explored all the countries and ate some good food. EPCOT was having their annual food and wine festival so that was fun!

    Pirates and Pals Cruise

The BEST new thing that we did was the Pirates and Pals Cruise! Grant's favorite Disney movie is Peter Pan. He loves all the characters especially Capt. Hook and Peter Pan. He loves to read the story at night and he loves  to make the sound that the crocodile makes when he gets close to Capt. Hook. So when I saw the new cruise was available, I booked it right away! The boys were really impressed with the whole experience. They had great personal interactions with the pirates and the characters! Although it was really cold, it was a great night. The boys played games with Capt. Hook and had a blast. Then we loaded up the boat and headed out to watch the lighted water parade and the Magic Kindom fireworks. The pirates on board did some great trivia and gave out cool pirate loot. BUT the very best part of the night was when we got back to the dock and Peter Pan was waiting there for us. Guess what he did? He said, "Who's Grant?" and grabbed Grant's hand for some one on one time! He walked all the way back to the building with Grant and just talked to him. It was really, really special. Grant was so thrilled and almost speachless at first! I imagine it was like a dream come true for him. Peter was just wonderful and we felt like we experienced a little Disney magic that night!

    Hollywood Studios Block Party

The Hollywood Studios parade is normally my favorite of all the parades. They don't do the parade anymore and instead they have a new "block party". I have to admit that I was really disappointed that they did away with the parade. However, we did enjoy the block party. It was not near as good as the parade but it was cute. The boys liked it but missed seeing all the characters that were in the parade. The block party did get better when Grant busted out his dance moves in front of the entire crowd! He is such a funny and fearless kid.

    Hollywood Studios

My personal favorite park at Disney World is Hollywood Studios. I just LOVE the look and feel it. The old Hollywood style is just cool! Plus, some of my favorite rides/shows are at Hollywood Studios. I love the shows and the Beauty and the Beast show is one of the best. Greyson was so excited because he was tall enough to ride the rock and roll roller coaster this year! I rode it with him his first time and we were in the very front. It was awesome. All 5 of us rode the Tower Of Terror together! It was so halarious to see my mom and Grant's reactions. Grant is still talking about that ride and how it was his favorite. The funny thing is that he did not want to ride it again but he says he loved it! We tried out a new restaurant this year called The Sci-Fi Cafe. It was really different and a great addition to our Disney adventure! We will go back for sure!
The Big hit this year was the all new TOY STORY MANIA! It was really, really fun. We all wanted to do it again and again. The boys both love the Toy Story movies so they were excited to meet Buzz and Woody and ride the new ride.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

One of the things that we were most excited about was going to the Not So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom. We were not disappointed! It was so awesome! The boys got all decked out in their costumes and they looked adorable! We all really LOVED the special Halloween parade and fireworks. The boys liked trick or treating  too. My favorite part was seeing all the characters in their costumes. Grant got pretty tired about 10:30 so we took him home but Greyson and Neil partied until closing time! Neil said the Haunted Mansion was really scary at night and that Grey was a little spooked. They loved being able to ride without all the long lines too. It was such a special "treat" to be there to see Disney celebrate Halloween!

Animals, Dinosaurs and most importantly... rides!

The favorites at Animal Kingdom were:
Grant- The boneyard playground, Kilamanjaro Safari
Greyson- Mt. Everest Roller Coaster, Kilamanjaro Safari

We had a great day at Animal Kingdom. We enjoyed the parade and the Nemo show a lot. The bestpart of Animal Kingdom is my opinion is the Lion King show. The boys were both picked to be part of the show this year which they loved! I have to admit that I loved it too.

    Animal Kingdom!

We started off our Animal Kingdom adventure by having breakfast with the characters at Tusker House. The food was really great and we had fun!
