September 30 Another Crazy, Busy, Fun WeekendFriday night, I got to have a girls night at one of my new neighbors house. We had some girly drinks and watched a girly movie. It was really fun. Neil stayed home with the boys and Mimi. Mimi came in to see our new home and more importantly her grandsons. Mimi and Grandad live in Alaska in the summer so the boys had not seen them in a long time. Grandad flew in from Alaska at 6:00 am on Saturday morning so Mimi was also here to pick him up. The boys loved seeing them and they got to see Grant's soccer game. My parents also game in to watch Grant's game. Neil did another great job of coaching but we are still struggling getting kids to play. We are getting better! Neil is really a great coach and I am so proud of him. After the game on Saturday, we ordered my new bike!!! I am so excited. It is brown and blue and super cute. I get to pick it up this Saturday. My parents stayed for dinner and we took the boys to Central Market for dinner. I am beginning to feel like I live there but it is just so great! On Sunday, we tried another church and went to lunch. We have still not chosen a new church home but we know we will find one eventually. We still have a couple left to try so we'll see... By Sunday night, Grant was seriously worn out. He fell alseep at the dinner table!
September 22 More from Turks and Caicos....Summer 2008I just remembered that I had a bunch of pictures on my other camera from this summer! Most of them are Labor Day weekend in Granbury. Nicholas, Greyson and Grant had a great time swimming and jumpin off the board in the poaring down rain. It was pretty neat. There are a couple of the boys haning out oat my parents house too. Greyson was playing guitar hero and Grant was playing "tickle, tickle" with GaGa. I used to play the same thing with him when I was Grant's age. My boys are crazy about GaGa. So am I. He is the best. September 21 Making PizzaGrant's 1st Soccer Game- Go Lions!Neil is coaching Grant's first soccer team. They are both having a great time. Yesterday was their first game. I have to say that I am so proud of Neil. He is a really great coach to these little three year olds. He is so, so patient and encouraging. The Lions did a good job and Grant tried hard (most of the time). He did get sidetracked by pulling the grass a few times but he was really pretty aggressive and enthusiastic. It was a lot of fun to watch. Some kids cry, some don't want to go anywehre near the field and some are little soccer stars already! Neil is great with all of them. Here are a few pictures of my two Lions. Cul-De-Sac PartyOur street and 2 cul-de-sacs had a really fun party last night. We met some people that we didn't know yet and the boys got to know some of the neighborhood kids better. We have some really great people and everyone is SO welcoming and nice. There are a TON of kids which is what we have always wanted. Neil even met another bike rider and they hit the pavement together at 6:45 this morning! He was thrilled to have someone that knows the good trails around here. I did not get many pictures but here are a few of the kiddos. Grant has a new buddy across the street. He is one week younger and his name is Luke. He is a doll. He also has a new little "girl" friend and her name is Carsey. Cutie. Grey had tons of boys to play with and has become buddies with Luke's sister, Grace. They live right across the street and they have awesome parents too. Talk about lucky! We could not have asked for better neighbors or better people.

it is even more important now because our neighbors are so many."

September 14 Grant Starts PreSchoolGrant started school at his new preschool last week. He was SO ready and has been asking to start school ever since Grey went back to school in August. He has the most precious teachers and he has not shed a tear! He loves going and is all smiles when I pick him up. We are so thankful that we were able to get the last spot in this class last spring. It feels right and I think we will continue to love it. They have a wonderful balance of academic and biblical teaching. Grant loves the two indoor play areas! Here are some pcitures from meet the teacher and his first day of school. Ms. Heidi and Ms. Sherry are so sweet and we are so thankful for them. The Eagles ConcertWe were lucky enough to go to see the Eagles last night. They were amazing! We were on the 5th row so we were able to really see what a fabulous performers they still are. They sound the exact same and are truly gifted musicians. We had such a great time. We were not able to bring in cameras but I did get a few shots from my phone. They are not great but it is all I have!
September 07 It's Official.Well, it is official. We drank the green Kool-Aid, we are brainwashed, we are
DRAGON fans!
We went the DRAGON tailgate party and football game this weekend. We all had a great time and met a lot of great people. The boys got in the Dragon Spirit and enjoyed running around and playing football with the other kids. We were trying to explain to Grant that he couldn't just tackle any kid... only the ones playing football. He was by far the smallest kid playing and he was taking down the big kids in one tackle. The big kids were great with him and he had a blast. Grey played a lot of tag and met some new friends. Neil and I were able to watch a little of the game between keeping our eyes on the boys! The school spirit is unbelievable. Everyone is all decked out in their green and Dragon attire. The home side of the stadium is packed and looks solid green, white and black from afar. There are a lot of neat traditions that we will learn and maybe even participate in as the boys grow. It was a true Friday night lights for us. GO DRAGONS! |
