    Greyson is a 2nd Grader!

Our sweet Greyson started 2nd grade today! He has a wonderful teacher named Ms. Glacy. She is perfect for Greyson and he has several friends in his class. We are so excited to be back in the routine. Grant has already missed him though... The school theme this year is
     Picture.
The school is all decked out in sports decor and the kids were even greeted by the high school cheerleaders and football players on their way into school.

Greyson, I hope that you enjoyed your first day and know that we have been praying for you all morning. It is going to be a great year!

    Grant Patrick- Chef Extroidanary!

Grant went to the cutest birthday party this weekend. It was at Market Street in their community kitchen. The kids all learned to make homemade chicken nuggets, pizza and a flower pot dessert. Grant loved every minute of it except when they told him to put the pink flower in the pot. He is not into pink or flowers... BUT he really loved the cooking and did a great job. He is already cast as the class clown and loves to make people laugh. It was a really fun party!

    The Stockyards- Ft. Worth

The Ft. Worth Stockyards are very neat. It is a little like going back in time. We shopped a little, watched a Longhorn parade, had a drink in the saloon and the kids LOVED the maze. I have to admit it was very cool. It was even on an episode on "The Amazing Race". The big kids all did a great job even in the crazy heat. The boys ended up winning but they all had fun! I think we will go back but not in August! Tongue out

    Greyson turns EIGHT!!!

Happy Birthday to Greyson! My first baby, what a joy you are to have for a son! Now that you read the blog on your own computer, I am going to write you letters so that someday you can look back on this and remember all the fun times we share.

    Dear Greyson,
We celebrated your 8th birthday several times this week. The first time was at the Rainforest Cafe with Gramma, Mommy, and Grant. They stood you on your chair and sang to you. You loved it!
The next time we celebrated we were at Patrizio's. This time Poppa, Tia, Uncle Chris, and Daddy joined in the fun. They brought you ice cream that you were not crazy about so Daddy helped.
On your REAL birthday, we celebrated by going to Ft. Worth with some of your buddies. We walked throught the stock yards, did the maze, had a drink in the old bar, and then ate a fabulous dinner at Joe T. Garcias. Davis, Grace, Zelda, Grant, Luke, Ms. Ame and Ms. Lynette were all there to join in the fun. Mommy got you cupcakes from Central Market but they also brought you a suger cookie with icing. They best part was when the Mariachi band sang "Happy Birthday". You had the best smile on your face. I loved seeing that smile and will remember it forever.

    Grant models for Stride Rite

Grant has a lot of fun doing his first runway job. He got to model several different pairs of shoes for Stride Rite. He was so funny. He really hammed it up and was giving everyone high fives. It was a cool experience. Here are some of my favorite photos!

    Los Cabos, Mexico- August 2009

Neil and I spent a week in Cabo in early August. We were excited to have some time together kid free! My mom and dad kept our boys for us. (Thanks Gramma and Poppa!) We had a great time and took the opportunity to try out some new adventures! We went zip-lining and did a little repelling. We zipped across canyons and it was super fun. We really enjoyed it and can't wait to take the boys someday. We also beach hopped on a power boat one day and snorkeled. Neil is a really fabulous snorkelor. He had some fish food and he would throw it out and they fish would jsut surround him. I love to snorkel but the water was really rough and I tend to get sick at my stomach so I only snorkeled for awhile. It was very fun though and I say so many beautiful things. Neil even took a surf lesson one day. He did a great job for his first time. He is hooked now and wants to surf again soon. We enjoyed many wonderful meals while we were there too. Our favorite was at the ONE and ONLY Palmilla. It was just magical. We ate right on the water and it was private and GORGEOUS! We walked all around the resort and just fell in love with it. We had a really great time and had time to talk and relax too!

Destin! Mommies and Kids Only :)

We met a wonderful family when we moved to Southlake. The Terry's! We have so much in common and we just love them! Our boys enjoy playing together and Neil and I love hanging out with Amy and Brad. We feel so blessed that we have their friendship. So, Amy invited the boys and I to meet her in Destin this summer. We jumped at the chance to get some beach time with our friends. We had a great time and the beach was truly beautiful. Here are some of my favorite pictures of Grant, Bo, Greyson and Connor. We also were able to meet another sweet Mommy and her little girls while we were there. It was a fun trip!

Hawaiian Falls with the Mundorff Gang

The boys and I met our old neighbors at Hawaiian Falls one day for some water park fun! We sure miss having them as neighbors. The kids loved seeing each other and Kim and I were able to catch up a bit. We had so much fun that we have plans to go back before school starts! Grant and Beckett have been buddies since they were babies and Greyson has always had a special bond with Holland and Merritt. I did not get a ton of pictures but here are a few of the cutest ones.

    More Pictures from South Padre

Here are a few more shots from our fun week in South Padre!

    South Padre Island- July 2009

The Smith/Moore/Hendrick clan hit the beach together this summer in South Padre. The beach was a perfect playground for our crazy crew. The kids just had a wondeful time boogie boarding, swimming in the pool, and playing in the sand. Grant loved chasing the seagulls! We went to Schilterbahn one day too. We went out for some fantastic meals on the ocean and the kids loved the swim up bar/restaurant at our hotel. We had a lot of fun things planned that we never got around to because the kids just loved being on the beach! We did take the kids to the go kart track and that was a huge hit. Greyson and Grant both bungee jumped! I have video of that but I need to get pictures from my sister. Olivia did the bungee/ trampoline thing and loved it. We also went to the Shrimp Haus for dinner and dancing one night. The kids all loved dancing and the music was great. We also were able to take a Sand Castle building class from "The Amazing Walter"! It was really cool and we all learned a lot! My parents celebrated their anniversary while we there! We really enjoyed being all together! Thank you to Gramma and Poppa for a really fun vacation! More Pics to come..... ran out of room!

    God Bless Granbury

The 4th of July was full of fun but it was SO HOT this year! We managed to stay cool most of the time. We always LOVE celebrating our freedom with friends and family. We loved having Caroline and Rachel with us this year. The kids all played and played. We ended the night with fireworks on the driveway. We spent lots of time with GaGa and LaLa and loved it. Nicholas won an award for his bike again this year. He looked adorable dressed up as part of a barbershop quartet. I am so glad that my parents have their house in Granbury. It is a wondeful place for everyone to gather and make memories!

    Greyson's Acting Classes

Greyson continues to take acting classes this summer. He truly loves acting and he is getting better and better, One of his favortie classes that he was able to attend this summer was an IMPROVE class taught by Cody Linley. You will recognize Cody from "Dancing with the Stars" and as Hannah Montana's boyfriend on the Disney channel. He has done several movies too. He is an 18 year old boy that is living a great life right now. I think one of the things that Grey loved about his class was that he could be silly and act like a crazy kid. Cody was great with the kids. It was a highlight of Grey's summer for sure.

    Grant goes to Basketball Camp...

Grant LOVED his little basketball camp this summer. He was the very youngest one and got lots of attention. :) He learned a lot and more importantly he had a blast! On the last day, two of the coaches asked if they could babysit for us. I took it as a comliment that they would want to hang out with my kids by choice!! Grant learned to dribble and pass pretty well. THe hoops were at 8 feet so he did not make many shots but he tried hard. He is such a fun kid!

    Father's Day 2009

Let me start by saying that I am so blessed. I grew up with such a wonderful Daddy. I know that my Dad loves me and I have never doubted his love for my mom. Now, my dad is a Poppa and a great one. My boys love their Poppa!

I knew when I married Neil that he would make a good Dad someday. I was right! He is a FANTASTIC dad. Neil is so involved with our boys and he is crazy about them. He has the patience of a saint. He wrestles, tickles, hugs, and most importantly disciplines our boys. He is focused on teaching them respect, self-discpline, the importnatance of hard work, the value of family and so much more. He is a great example of living a healthy life. He encourages them to be active and to make good choices in their eating. He reads to them and watches boy movies with them. He is just such a great Daddy.

Our boys are also blessed with wonderful uncles, great- grandpas, and a of course their "Grandad". All of these men are special and all are going to be influential in the lives of my boys. Happy Father's Day to all the special Dads in our family.

    Grant's Super Hero 4th Birthday!

We celebrated Grant's birthday at The Little Gym and the kids cam dressed as super heroes. Grant loved having all his buddies around and really loved all his presents! He asked for a Batman cake and loved dressing as Spiderman. I think we all agree that his biggest Super Hero is his Daddy though!

    Happy Birthday to Grant!

Our sweet Grant Patrick turned four years old in June! I still can't believe that he is four. So much has happened in his little life in four years. I will say with all my heart that Grant is PURE joy! He is such a great kid. He is so easy going and just has this wonderful thirst for life. He makes friends so easily and loves to PLAY! His favorite thing to do is play outside. He loves to play on his computer and play x-box too. He is an amazing swimmer and is super athletic. He is starting to show an interest in learning to read. He likes to make rhymes and loves to look at books. He loves when we read aloud to him. He has some good buddies and a special friend that is a girl. He enjoys his modeling work and asks when he gets to "take pictures at JC Penneys" again. Grant loves his family. He idolizes his brother and wants to do all the same things. His favorite place to be is in Granbury at his Poppa and Gramma's house. He loves to ride their golf cart and look for signs and animals. His favorite foods are cheeseburgers, spinach dip, peanut butter and jelly, and anything chocolate. He loves most fruits and cooked carrots. He really wants to play baseball. Grant gives wondeful hugs and always greets me with a huge smile. He is a fantastic kid and we all love him so much.
