    A Day Out with Thomas

We took the boys to ride Thomas the tank engine today. Grant is really into trains and specifically Thomas. He LOVED it and begged to ride again. Grey seemed to enjoy it too. It was a lot of fun. Afterwards, we went to eat lunch at The Rainforest Cafe. It was a huge hit with the boys. Grant was pretty scared of the animals at first but then he was really into watching them. That place is really neat. I was telling Greyson about the time that I took 125 kindergartners there when I was a teacher. Crazy but fun! It was much easier to just take 2 kids! It was a fun day but we are all worn out and enjoying chilling out at home tonight.Smile

Friday was a Big Day Around Here...

On Friday, Grant's class had "Donuts with Daddies". Neil was actually out of town but came home late Thursday and drove back after the event. He is such a good daddy! He said that Grant was so proud to have him there and that he really enjoyed it.

Mommy and Greyson had a special morning going on a field trip to FIRE SAFETY TOWN in downtown Frisco. Greyson learned a lot and even got to do a pratice 911 call in front of everyone. He did a pretty good job but it was really surprising how nervous he was. I really thought he would breeze right through it but he didn't. He froze and starting talking really quietly. He did a good job but it was a good reminder for me that we need to practice more often.

    Easter in Granbury and Bluffdale

We spent Easter weekend in Granbury and Bluffdale. The boys enjoyed an egg hunt at the Pecan Plantation clubhouse on Saturday morning. The weather was beautiful and we were all thrilled to be outside enjoying Mom and Dad's wonderful backyard! On Saturday afternoon, the Easter Bunny delivered some fun baskets and put out TONS of eggs to hunt! It was a great hunt because there were so many real hiding places down by the river in my parents' backyard. We were thrilled to have cousins Caroline, Rachel and Nicholas hunt with us too. We ended the hunt with playing baseball with Confetti Eggs. Even  Tara and I were able to bust some eggs! Sunday morning we headed over to Grandad and MiMi's farm house in Bluffdale. We had a great time eating and playing with the Kinnon cousins. MiMi cooked a great Easter Meal too. The boys were able to go fishing for the first time. They each cought some fish. Grant caught the big one in the picture. Greyson loves to get the eggs out of the hen house and have MiMi make FRESH scrambled eggs. However, the favorite thing for all the cousins to do at MiMi and Grandad's house is dig in the big hole. The kids will spend hours digging with shovels. It is really quite funny. We always love seeing Miranda, Isabelle, Dominich and Damian. It was great to spend our first Easter with them in Bluffdale. It was really cold on Sunday so I did not get ou there and take any pictures of the kids. I regret it now but at the time it was really warm inside. :)

    Spring Break 2008

Spring Break came at an odd time this year. Really, Easter came at an odd time. The weather was also a factor this year... All that being said, we had a nice break. The boys and I just hung out together for the first few days. We went to Planet Pizza one day. It is an indoor amusement park that is a lot of fun. It was SO crazy. I think there were like 10 daycares there the same day. It was POURING!! down rain so it was really crowded. The boys loved it though and I felt like a good Mommy for that day. :)
On Wednesday, the boys and I went to Brownwood. We rode down there with my sister and her kids. We spent a couple of days hanging out in "the wood". We were able to spend some time with my grandparents, aunt and uncle and one of my cousins. My sweet Grandma is now in a care facility. She has only been there about a month so this was the first time that we have visited her there. It was sure tough to see her there. She has alzheimers so she needs to have care 24 hours a day. I think she may have known me for a couple of moments. She is a wonderful lady and even while in the depths of this horrible disease, she is sweet and loving. I am so thankful for that. The boys did a good job during their visit to see her. They were very respectful and talked to her a lot. They even sang to her and she hummed along. It was a pretty touching moment. I will always remember it.
The boys always look forward to riding the forklift at my dad's roofing company. They also love the park down the street from my parents house. If you look hard enough... there are some things to do in Brownwood. :)

    Grant gets some hunting practice...

My neighbor and I organized the egg hunt and family picnic for our whole neighborhood. We worked on it for several months. Greyson was a huge help. He stuffed a ton of eggs and even helped us hide them on the day of the hunt. A couple of minutes before we were to give the 1,2,3 go.... Greyson comes over to me and has this really green look on his face. You guessed it. Bless his heart, he started throwing up right there in front of everyone. So after months of work, he had to go home with Daddy and did not get to hunt. I felt so bad for him. His little heart was broken. Luckily, it wa just a 12 hour bug and he bounced back really quickly. SO Grant got to hunt with Mommy. He was so funny. He picked up a few eggs (no pink because they "are for girls") and then he handed me his basket and said it was my turn to hunt!
Grant also got to practice hunting eggs at his little school. He did much better that time but got side tracked by any egg that looked like a ball...IMG_0292IMG_0297IMG_0299IMG_0312IMG_0316

    Open House

We all went to Greyson's Open House before Spring Break. He was so proud to show us all his work. He is such a good student and so sweet. They are really focusing a lot of writing now and it is precious to see what he comes up with. I have been keeping a lot of his writing because it is just too cute!IMG_0303IMG_0304IMG_0305IMG_0306IMG_0307IMG_0309IMG_0311

    REAL SNOW!

This is not our typical Texas snow! This snow was amazing. It snowed these huge flakes for several hours. It was really beautiful! We all played outside until we were frozen and soaking wet! It was very fun. We finished the night out by making our own snow ice cream. It tasted horrible but it was fun!IMG_0246IMG_0249IMG_0253IMG_0260IMG_0263IMG_0267IMG_0273IMG_0281IMG_0288IMG_0290IMG_2080IMG_2086IMG_2092IMG_2099

    The First Snow This Week

We had some snow earlier this week. It melted pretty quickly but Grant had the chance to go and check it out before Power Kids. Feb 2008 (103)Feb 2008 (102)

    Grant's Preschool Pajama Day

    This is Grant's typical smile right now. Can't you hear him? "CHEESE!!"Feb 2008 (63)Feb 2008 (65)

    Bowling!

One of our favorite family activities is BOWLING! I am a horrible bowler but I am getting better. Grant seriously is addicted. He can't hardly contain his excitement when he gets his turn. Greyson is actually bowling now instead of using the little stand thing.Feb 2008 (14)Feb 2008 (23)Feb 2008 (4)Feb 2008 (40)

    Greyson's Art Show

Greyson had a piece of art chosen for the Frisco ISD art show. We were very happy for him. He loves his art class at school and his art teacher too. In the picture, his art piece is towards the top left. It is a hand making an "I Love You' sign in bright colors. He is such a creative little guy. He must get it from his Tia and his Mimi. It is not from his mommy or daddy!Feb 2008 (66)Feb 2008 (67)Feb 2008 (68)

    Cool Stuff...

The last week has been a bit crazy. Good crazy, but crazy. Our house is on the market so I am always cleaning! We have had a lot of interest but everyone has a house to sell. It is a tough market for selling. We are not in a huge hurry so it is okay. Something happened last weekend that is really neat for Greyson. He won 1st runner up in a kids modeling contest and earned a scholorship towards IMTA in New York City this summer. We had to decide last week if we could make it all happen. It is an amazing opportunity so we wanted to try and make it happen. The conference is where a lot of celebs get their first big job. (Katie Holmes, Jessica Biel, Eva Longoria, Ashton Kutchner, Josh Dumael, etc.) We don't expect that to happen but we do think that Grey will learn a lot and it will be a good experience for him. He will work for the next 6 months on his techniques and practice scripts. He and I will then get to go to NYC together in July! I am very excited to see what it is all about. I will post some pictures of him getting his flowers when they announced the winner. It was so funny because he was not sure about getting flowers. He just turned around and looked at me like "flowers?" He did say "at least they are yellow, my favorite color". Anyway- it is very exciting!
