Neil's Office was not too much work... manchester house 080Oct.nov. 2008 143

Dining Room and Entry Hall

This room was mostly just in need of paint and glaze... But here are some before and after shots. :) We ate our first meal here last night with some friends from Baylor that live in Southlake. It was funOct.nov. 2008 136manchester house 075!manchester house 085manchester house 071manchester house 072Oct.nov. 2008 134Oct.nov. 2008 135Oct.nov. 2008 137manchester house 074

House Pictures

Oct.nov. 2008 127Oct.nov. 2008 129Oct.nov. 2008 131We have been working really hard on the house and we are finally feeling like it is getting close to how we want it. I am goind to attempt to do some before and after comparisons but I did not take a lot of before pics... We are still working on our family room and breakfast nook windows so I have not taken any of that room yet. We are almost finished with Greyson's room which was a HUGE project. He has all new everything. He wanted his room to be like a media room minus the TV. :) We ordered him a new bed and redid a desk that we bought online. He loves his new bedding especially the Star Wars stuff. It is turning out cute and he loves it.  I will start with posting those first. :) His room was a very bad green and had pink and green curtains... so this is a big change. :)

Our first Christmas in Southlake Town Square

On Saturday, we met some good friends for what is most liekly our first of many Christmas Tree Lighting Festivals in Southlake town square. It was VERY neat. They had tons of carolers, carriage rides, Santa, crafts for kids, and tons more. The cooest thing was when they "plugged" in all the lights. The ENTIRE square was glowing. It was gorgeous. It really got us all in the Christmas spirit. We enjoyed hanging out with Greg and Angela and their cute kids too. Greg and Neil work together at Microsoft and we all moved to Southlake in the past year. They are really fun and Angela and I have a lot in common. We are so glad that we have become friends and look forward to many more Christmas Tree Lightings with themOct.nov. 2008 149Oct.nov. 2008 151Oct.nov. 2008 152Oct.nov. 2008 155Oct.nov. 2008 157Oct.nov. 2008 159Oct.nov. 2008 161Oct.nov. 2008 164Oct.nov. 2008 169Oct.nov. 2008 171Oct.nov. 2008 173

Ice Cream with Grace

We have the best neighbors! one evening, we took our sweet neighbor with us to dinner and dessert. Grace is 7 and she and Greyson have become great friends. She has a little brother that is one week younger than Grant. Grant and Luke are big buddies too... Here are some cute shots of the boys and our wonderful new friends and neighbors.... I did not mention them but Grace and Luke have AWESOME parents too. More to comeIMG_1325IMG_1326October 2008 006October 2008 007October 2008 008October 2008 010

Star Wars Fans... This is your Paradise!

There is this man that lives close by that has this AMAZING collection of all things Star Wars.He has even built his own buildings to house this stuff. He does not open it to the public but he decided to help the city of Southlake raise money for a project they are trying to build. He sold only 200 tickets to see his stuff. It was pretty pricey so I decided to sit this one out. :) Neil took the boys and they were all truly in awe of what they saw! There were characters walking around in original costumes and authenic pieces from the movies everywhere. Neil said it was seriously impressive. The boys loved it and Neil was just happy that they did not touch anything! It was a neat afternoon for all my boys and it was a nice way to donate to a good cause!IMG_1382IMG_1385IMG_1387IMG_1393IMG_1397IMG_1398IMG_1404IMG_1405

Storybook Character Day at Old Union

We were able to use our Harry Potter costume for the storybook character day too! Grey presented a report on Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. He did a good job. The parade of the whole school was really neat.  I loved that in this day of political correctness, the school found an educational way to let the kids wear their costumes! Here are a few pictures of Grey and his friends. Our neighbor, Grace, made a super cute witch!

Trick or Treat, Now Let's Party!

Since becoming a Mommy, I have had these visions of what I wanted our neighborhood to be like on Halloween. We finally found it! Our neighborhood was in the spirit on Halloween night. We loved it! The boys loved trick or treating and getting candy. The highlight of the night was our Halloween block party. It was SO MUCH FUN!! The kids loved the jumpy house and making smores in the fire pit. The adults had a great time too. We played and partied past midnight. I know, we are crazy for letting our kids stay up that late but it was fun! We are feeling like this is home now and we love it. Harry Potter ended up looking like a waiter once he took off his accessories and Cookie Monster ended up in shorts and a t-shirt since it was 80 degrees! But who cares! My parents even dropped by and met our neighbors and hung out for awhile. We hated to see them leave! But even that did not dampen the boys Halloween spirit. Maybe it was their sugar high??

Couldn't resist including the pictures of my neighbor "Joe, the plumber..." and of Grant's best buddy, Luke, passed out from all the fun!

Halloweeen Party at Timarron

We kicked off our Halloween at the Halloween party at the club. It was a lot of fun. They had a kid buffet set up that had everything a kid could ask for on Halloween. Caramel apples, popcorn balls, spider web cupcakes, chicken fingers, french fries, PB and J, you get the picture... Anyway, the boys loved it. They had some games set up for the kids and the big event was the costume contest. Guess who won "Best Costume"????? Harry Potter! I mean Greyson. He was so excited! He did look exactly like him. Grant looked adorable as cookie monster too. It was a fun night and a good warm up for the big night on Friday!IMG_4628IMG_4635IMG_4636IMG_4642IMG_4666IMG_4671IMG_4679IMG_4684IMG_4687IMG_4688IMG_4654

FUNdraising

IMG_4609IMG_4618IMG_4621IMG_4626IMG_4573IMG_4583Greyson and Neil hit the pavment last week to get donations for the Old Union boosterthon. They did a great job and Greyson has about $1000 pledged. On Friday, they had the actual run and he ran all 35 laps! We were very proud of him. The money he raised will go towards buying new technology for his school. It was really neat to see how excited and motivated he was to help his school. Neil said that he was a great little salesman. Hum... wonder where he gets that? :)
